In addition to being the center of a world famous wine making region, the city of Napa is a historic and culinary landmark in its own right. Founded in 1847, this beautiful community on the Napa River was a staging site for the Gold Rush of the late 1850’s. Although many of the city’s building were damaged or demolished in the earthquake of 1906, Napa’s historic downtown still exhibits reminders of the miners and merchants who helped establish the city as the economic hub of the Napa Valley.
It’s the people of Napa Valley that make it such an interesting place to live. From ranchers, growers and entrepreneurs, to writers, poets and artists, a more diverse or vital group would be difficult to find anywhere. They are drawn to the Valley by its natural beauty and rural way of life.
The people are friendly and warm - always ready to help their neighbors. The schools are highly rated and teachers dedicated to their students. The merchants rely on good service to keep customers coming back.
Day to day life is rich! Because of the world wide recognition as a premier wine-producing region, Napa Valley enjoys a varied cultural calendar. Wine and food related events, ethnic festivals, international sporting events and a gamut of renowned musical performances fill nearly every weekend.
